Data Files

This page provides access to data files showing past local government and Scottish Parliament boundaries for use in a geographical information system (GIS).

Data files of current UK Parliament constituencies are available in Ordnance Survey’s Boundary-Line™ product. Boundary-Line™ is part of Ordnance Survey’s OS Open Data™ products which are available free of charge.

Our boundaries are defined by Ordnance Survey and follow the high water mark except in three areas: Shetland Islands by Baltasound and Sullom Voe; Inverclyde; and Aberdeen, as defined in legislation.

Historical local government boundary data, pre-1995, is also available on our archived website
